IFRS conversion
At the start of the 2005/2006 fiscal year, the ThyssenKrupp Group switched its accounting from US GAAP (US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). The report on the 1st quarter 2005/2006 (October 01, 2005 to December 31, 2005) was the first to be drawn up under IFRS and included comparative figures.
US GAAP accounting has been discontinued. The financial statements for the year ended September 30, 2005 were the last to be drawn up in accordance with US GAAP.
A Virtual Classroom Meeting was being held on February 1, 2006 to present the main points of the conversion to IFRS. A replay of the comments by Dr. A. Stefan Kirsten, the then Chief Financial Officer of ThyssenKrupp AG, as well as the following Q&A session is available below.
