Share buybacks
ThyssenKrupp AG holds 40,515,552 shares of treasury stock or around 7.9 % of the capital stock. The shares were purchased under share buybacks in July/August 2006 and in February/March 2008. No rights accrue to the Company from these repurchased shares.
The free float, which is relevant for the weighting of the ThyssenKrupp stock in the indices, amounts to 67.03 % of the capital stock.
Share buyback 2008
In the period from February 01, 2008, up to March 07, 2008, ThyssenKrupp AG purchased a total of 14,791,100 shares of the Company, representing around 2.9 % of the capital stock, at an average price of 35.34 euros. This represents a total amount of around 522.7 million euros.
The share buyback is based on a resolution of the Annual Meeting on January 18, 2008, which authorized ThyssenKrupp AG to acquire treasury stock in accordance with Art. 71 par. 1 No. 8 Stock Corporation Act (AktG) up to a total of 10 % of the current capital stock. The authorization is valid until July 17, 2009.

Share buyback 2006
In the period from July 04 to August 21, 2006, ThyssenKrupp AG repurchased a total of 25,724,452 shares of the Company, representing 5 % of the capital stock, at an average price of 27.09 euros. This represents a total amount of about 696.9 million euros.
The share buyback was based on a resolution of the Annual General Meeting on January 27, 2006, which authorized ThyssenKrupp AG to acquire treasury stock in accordance with Art. 71 par. 1 No. 8 Stock Corporation Act (AktG) up to a total of 10 % of the current capital stock.
