Representing a sales volume of more than €2.2 billion in fiscal year 2010/2011 France is the No. 3 foreign market for ThyssenKrupp. This corresponds to almost 5% of total sales and 7% of foreign sales. All Business Areas have their own subsidiaries there.

In addition to auto industry suppliers like ThyssenKrupp Sofedit, engineering companies are also located here. Elevator's subsidiaries manufacture, sell, install and service a broad range of elevators and other passenger and freight transportation products with almost 3,600 employees.

In the materials business we have trading companies, steel service centers and production companies. In total, ThyssenKrupp's subsidiaries and affiliated companies in France employ some 7,300 people.
