Help for hurricane victims
The "Convoy of Compassion" was a professionally organized relief operation initiated by ThyssenKrupp USA and ThyssenKrupp Services in summer 2005 to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. Five giant trucks were sent to the affected regions loaded with water, food, medical dressings and other essentials.

The devastating natural disaster wreaked havoc in the southeastern regions of the USA, in particular along the Gulf Coast. The "Convoy of Compassion" was an additional measure to supplement the financial aid provided by the Group: ThyssenKrupp USA donated one million US dollars to support employees whose homes had been destroyed or damaged and were not insured.
