ThyssenKrupp support projects for tsunami victims

The devastating tsunami in Asia took hundreds of thousands of lives and left millions of people behind who, although they managed to save their own lives that day, lost everything else.

For this reason, the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG released up to €2.5 million in donations directly after the tsunami. This money is to support long-term reconstruction projects to secure a sustainable future for those affected. The ThyssenKrupp relief efforts are focused on India and Thailand.

At the same time, the Group Works Council launched the “One hour for Asia” campaign calling on all Group employees worldwide to donate money for the tsunami victims. This campaign showed how extremely willing people were to make donations: Group employees donated around €300,000 for the victims of the tsunami – even though many had already made private donations.
