In 15 villages severely affected by the tsunami, villagers will be given help to help themselves. The main focus is on two goals: restoring the basis of life for the villagers and providing help for the affected children. For example, a children's day care center will be built in each village. These centers will be used as kindergartens in the mornings and to supervise schoolchildren in the afternoon. In total, around 1,200 children will benefit. In the evenings, the buildings will be available as community centers in which village development committees and women's self-help groups can meet to discuss the concerns of the village.

Other aims of the project are to purchase fishing boats and to (re)build the small trade sector.
