DEUBAU: International Trade Fair for Construction 2012

The sixth International Architecture Congress took place during DEUBAU 2012. Renowned architects from around Europe gathered to present their projects focused on the balance of economic, ecological and socio-cultural factors. Under the conference motto “New building with steel – spans, structures, visions” the ThyssenKrupp Quarter in Essen was also presented, which has been awarded the German Quality Seal for Sustainable Building.

Also on show at DEUBAU: Hoesch isowand integral® and Hoesch Planeel Siding – two high-quality systems for facade design supplied by the Color/Construction business unit of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe. Hoesch isowand integral® sandwich panels for attractive facade cladding were developed especially for modern industrial architecture, combining cost-effective structures with modern design. Hoesch Planeel Siding offers the optimum end-to-end solution for rainscreen facades. Thanks to concealed fasteners and the patented Hoesch substructure, this system meets sophisticated demands on aesthetics and quality. The panels are available in a variety of designs to suit the needs of any building – whether office, commercial or residential.

ReflectionsPearl – the new coating from the Color/Construction business unit of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe – attracted major interest during DEUBAU 2012. ReflectionsPearl is the first collection of its kind for steel, offering a unique appearance. The combination of special-effect paints and light surface texturing produces an elegant look that varies depending on light and viewing angle to create a changing play of colors.

DEUBAU 2012 ran at the Essen exhibition center from January 10 to 14. Sponsored by the German construction ministry, the show featured the products and services of around 600 exhibitors from all areas of the construction industry, providing a complete overview of current offerings for designing and building. One focus was sustainable building and the current hot topic of energy efficiency. Other important themes were extension, renovation and modernization. ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe was again represented at the international building show this year.

ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe displayed at the DEUBAU 2012 international construction fair in cooperation with Stahl-Informations-Zentrum. As two years ago, the Color/Construction business unit of the steel company was represented in Essen. Lightweight steel construction elements and systems as well as other innovative building solutions were among the highlights presented by the business unit on the joint Stahl-Informations-Zentrum booth.
