ThyssenKrupp Printmedia: Printing company celebrates its 100th anniversary
ThyssenKrupp Printmedia is a full-service supplier to the graphics industry. Fully equipped and with all the necessary know-how, the ThyssenKrupp Group company offers a broad spectrum of services from a single source. And does so successfully: The Duisburg-based company is celebrating an important anniversary this year and can look back over 100 years of advances in printing and processing. “We pull out all the stops to respond to developments in the sector – that’s how we have managed to maintain our position for over a century,” explains Managing Director Hans Bellmann (far right).
The printing company was founded in 1912 as the graphics company for August Thyssen-Hütte, now ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe. In 1969, the company moved to its current location in Duisburg-Ruhrort. It became an independent limited company in 1993 and changed its name to ThyssenKrupp Printmedia in 1999. It currently employs 30 staff.
Under the company concept “printing and more”, Printmedia offers all print shop services – from layout to shipping. First a print order is received by telephone, e-mail or the online catalog system. The media designer arranges the layout before the print master is sent to the offset printing machine or digital printer. Once cut and bound, the printed product is shipped or stored in the 1,200 square meter warehouse. The product spectrum ranges from brochures to business cards, flyers and catalogs, in small to medium-sized print runs.
The company has also kept pace with technological advances in the graphics industry. Modern digital printers and means of communication are investments in the future of the company. The five-color offset printing machine purchased several years ago is now the centerpiece of the production shop.
Thanks to its ability to combine a wide range of capabilities under one roof, ThyssenKrupp Printmedia has become firmly established – both with Group customers and on the open market. Group-internal and external companies appreciate the quick response times and full service.
