The ties between India and ThyssenKrupp date back to 1860. Currently, with sales of about €720 Million India is the second largest market for ThyssenKrupp in Asia-Pacific with diversified business activities carried out by our local Group companies with almost 5,500 employees.
Our group subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Industries India Ltd. manufactures complete sugar plants, cement plants and machinery and equipment for open cast mining as well as bulk material handling. Uhde India Ltd. on the other hand is engaged in plant design and engineering for the chemical, petroleum and other industries. Jointly, they employ several hundreds of highly skilled engineers enabling our Plant Technology business unit to profit from 24-hour engineering solutions worldwide.
ThyssenKrupp Elevator India Ltd. employs more than 1,900 people in India. Elevator operates customer service centers here as well as a comprehensive distribution and customer service network.
